What to know about Dubrovnik Airport
- Runway
- The longest runway in Croatia. It accepts heavy long-range types without a payload penalty.
- Customs and border
- Croatia is in the Schengen area. Flights to and from non-Schengen states are handled as external border crossings in both directions.
- Seasonality
- Traffic is strongly seasonal. July and August carry the peak, and the airport is far quieter either side of it.
- Best for
- The default departure point for Dubrovnik, the Elaphiti islands and the southern Dalmatian coast.
Timing
Easily a same-day return. The limiting factor is what you have to do on the ground, not the flying.
Italian demand into Dalmatia peaks in August, which is also the tightest period at Dubrovnik.

Linate is the closer of the two Milan fields to the city and the default here. Malpensa is used when the aircraft or a connection calls for it.
