What to know about Dubrovnik Airport
- Runway
- The longest runway in Croatia. It accepts heavy long-range types without a payload penalty.
- Customs and border
- Croatia is in the Schengen area. Flights to and from non-Schengen states are handled as external border crossings in both directions.
- Seasonality
- Traffic is strongly seasonal. July and August carry the peak, and the airport is far quieter either side of it.
- Best for
- The default departure point for Dubrovnik, the Elaphiti islands and the southern Dalmatian coast.
Timing
Short enough to fly out in the morning and be back the same evening. Departure time is set by you, not by a departure board.
The Dubrovnik end is the constrained one. July and August are dense at Dubrovnik Airport and worth requesting early.
Operational note
Ciampino is the default arrival field because it sits closer to central Rome. Fiumicino is available if a connection or an aircraft type calls for it.
