What to know about Dubrovnik Airport
- Runway
- The longest runway in Croatia. It accepts heavy long-range types without a payload penalty.
- Customs and border
- Croatia is in the Schengen area. Flights to and from non-Schengen states are handled as external border crossings in both directions.
- Seasonality
- Traffic is strongly seasonal. July and August carry the peak, and the airport is far quieter either side of it.
- Best for
- The default departure point for Dubrovnik, the Elaphiti islands and the southern Dalmatian coast.
Timing
Short enough to do in an afternoon. Yacht transfers usually pin the arrival time rather than the departure.
Both ends peak in the same weeks. July and August compress availability at Nice and at Dubrovnik simultaneously, so this one is worth requesting early.
Operational note
Cannes Mandelieu is close by and suits smaller types. Which of the two fields works depends on the aircraft, and that is confirmed with the options.
